Patrick Dunkley is the executive director of Stanford University’s IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access in a Learning Environment) and racial justice initiatives, and also directs the Office of Institutional Equity and Access, providing leadership for critical programs that support internal communities at Stanford. Patrick is co-chair of the university’s Community Board on Pubic Safety, which was created to advise university leadership on community safety and campus policing.

Gerald Chertavian is dedicated to closing the Opportunity Divide that exists in our nation. Determined to make this vision a reality, Gerald combined his entrepreneurial skills and his passion for working with young adults to found Year Up in 2000. It has been recognized by Fast Company and The Monitor Group as one of the top 25 organizations using business excellence to engineer social change. Year Up has also been recognized consistently as one of the nation’s top 50 non-profits to work for by the Non-Profit Times. Gerald has been committed to working with under-served young adults for more than three decades.

Through a facilitated discussion and Q&A moderated by Stanford CIO Steve Gallagher, these extraordinary leaders will share the benefits of sponsoring Year Up interns and how the program helps to address racial inequality in the workplace.
