Learn more about ways to connect with the IT Community

This is a monthly all-Zoom opportunity for three IT staff members to present lightning talks to their colleagues over the lunch hour. A brief community Q&A will follow each lightning talk. This series builds on the very popular lightning talks at the annual IT Unconference and extends opportunities throughout the year, offering a greater frequency to both to hear from each other and to share out with each other in a broad forum.

The lightning talks will cover the strategic area of student experience. Specifically, you'll hear from and have a chance to engage with:

  • Beth McCullough, director of Learning Environment Integration in the Office of the Vice Provost for Technology and Learning (VPTL). Beth will share preliminary findings from the Stanford Classroom Reimagined project, which is charged with creating a 10-year roadmap to guide the creation and renovation of Stanford's classrooms and informal learning spaces.
  • Joe Knox, a product manager on the End User Experience team in University IT (UIT). Joe will share insights into behind-the-scenes efforts and findings during his team's work on the CIO Council sponsored initiative to enhance Stanford Mobile, which is focused on improving the student experience.
  • Sarah Traxler, a service designer on the Improvement, Analytics and Innovation Services team in Business Affairs. Based on the Campus IT Plan user research findings, Sarah will highlight key takeaways on the undergraduate student experience with IT at Stanford.
