2024 Campus IT Plan Launches With Updated Strategies and Notable Enhancements

The Stanford IT community has published its fifth 2024 Campus IT Plan. You can view the newly updated plan at campusitplan.stanford.edu

Compiled by 50+ contributors across 24 units, the Campus IT Plan provides an active and working repository of future directions and planned strategies for the IT community. The individual plans align with a set of common strategic areas identified by key Stanford stakeholders as critical to technology support at Stanford.

What’s new in 2024

This year, University IT (UIT) and the CIO Council partnered to complete a discovery project to determine how to evolve the Campus IT Plan. The outcome led to the 2024 plan, featuring several key enhancements:

  • Reimagined navigation: A redesigned Explore the Plan page that provides a more synthesized user experience as you navigate the site.
  • Introducing explorations: Explorations are a new plan element captured within the strategic areas. For the first time in the Campus IT Plan, we're including information about what we're considering, rather than limiting our plans to what has been decided. This gives us the space to learn from each other without solid expectations of the outcomes.
  • Spotlight on trends: Highlighting trending keywords to keep you informed on what’s shaping our IT landscape.
  • Streamlined content: A more concise view of unit plans, making it easier to scan and absorb information.
  • Revitalized vision: A refreshed, forward-looking vision statement that aligns with Stanford’s mission.

As the Campus IT Plan vision states, “…we aspire to cultivate a more connected and innovative environment that empowers our Stanford community…”  As you delve into the 2024 plan, we encourage you to seek out new opportunities to engage and collaborate with your IT colleagues.

And from time to time, check back to view the Campus IT Plan’s latest updates. Units may update their individual plans with new information throughout the year.
