Accelerate the Windows 10 Upgrade With New Automation Tool

EUX Accelerator reduces up to 30 minutes of hands-on time per computer

With a January 2020 deadline to upgrade to Windows 10, University IT (UIT) has the tool to accelerate the process, saving you time and dollars.

Developed within UIT’s End User Experience teams, the EUX Accelerator is a tool that automates the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade for Stanford-owned computers, reducing up to 30 minutes of hands-on time per computer for technicians.

How it works

The EUX Accelerator is programmed to act as a keyboard and mouse, performing the types of repetitive tasks that technicians could “do with their eyes closed.”

Once plugged into a Stanford-owned Windows machine, the tool will automatically complete the prompts of upgrading the operating system, allowing a technician to spend less than one minute on each device and to upgrade multiple operating systems simultaneously. Because the EUX Accelerator automatically adds the Stanford EDU license key, it can only be used on Stanford-owned machines.
