The Career Journey of an Asian American at Stanford

When Maria Inciong entered the workforce after college, she didn’t aspire to reach any particular role or title. In fact, she didn’t even plan to be in Information Technology. An accidental tourist in IT, Maria was on track to becoming a lawyer when she became enraptured by digital transformation, and took a leave from law school to embark on a new career journey.

Now Director of Technology Solutions Alignment in University IT’s Enterprise Technology group, Maria will share her story Tuesday, May 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. in a virtual event entitled “The Career Journey of an Asian American at Stanford.”

Presented by Stanford People of Color in Technology (POC-IT), this event will focus on Maria’s 23-year career at Stanford and the lessons she has learned along the way. Tune in to hear about Maria’s tours of duty with Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid, HR Information Systems, and UIT in various roles spanning from an individual contributor, people manager, and director.

Register by 5 p.m. on May 3 and join the POC-IT-Connect Slack Channel for a chance to win an Amazon gift card.
