We’re excited to share the IT Unconference and Cybersecurity & Privacy Festival have officially converged.
After 14 years of the IT Unconference and six years of CyberFest, the organizers have teamed up to reimagine something new—a single, community-powered gathering called Converge. This combined event will not only elevate the attendee experience but also streamline planning efforts and reduce costs.
On Thursday, Dec. 11, Converge will bring together IT professionals, staff, and faculty to explore how technology connects us, supports our work, and drives innovation at Stanford. Attendees can join online or in person at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge.
What to expect
At its heart, we hope Converge will preserve the best of both original events. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Learn and share: Attend practical sessions for a wide range of technical experience and interests.
- Shape the conversations: Drive the agenda by proposing topics that are meaningful to you. In addition to keynotes and panel discussions, the “unconference” format will continue, allowing participants to propose breakout session topics and shape the agenda both in advance and real time.
- Build community: Connect with colleagues and experts—the people behind Stanford’s technology.
Our 2025 theme, “Champion a Secure Future,” centers on fostering a culture of curiosity, responsibility, and innovation. While Converge will cover technology topics broadly, this year’s theme places a special emphasis on cybersecurity and privacy.
Registration opens soon
We’ll share more details once registration opens in the coming months. In the meantime, visit converge.stanford.edu for the latest on speakers, sessions, and logistics.
