Take the BigFix to Jamf Transition Survey

In June 2021, University IT (UIT) announced the rollout of Jamf software to enhance how we manage Stanford macOS devices. This change was necessary after Apple’s security updates made it impossible for BigFix to adequately perform the tasks needed for device management.

Since its implementation, over 70,000 Apple devices at Stanford have enrolled in Jamf, including more than 34,000 currently managed macOS devices.

As a final step to complete the migration, UIT will remove BigFix from macOS devices. To ensure a smooth transition between device management systems, the Jamf team has created a survey to get feedback from those who manage macOS devices

The BigFix to Jamf Transition Survey covers:

  • General uses
  • Specific tasks performed with BigFix Console and Web Reports
  • Challenges encountered when transitioning to Jamf
  • Potential training needs

To help improve the transition process, we ask that you share feedback about your experience in this brief survey. This survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete.

When will BigFix be removed from macOS devices?

The survey results will help determine the timeline for removing BigFix from macOS devices. Administrators who still use BigFix to manage macOS devices should provide feedback to identify and address any gaps in macOS management.
