Meet IT CareerLab’s new event series, “Coffee & Careers”

There are many ways to grow your career in the IT community at Stanford, but it can be difficult knowing where to begin. With a variety of development programs, training workshops, and learning opportunities available, understanding your options is key.

This year, University IT’s Organizational Effectiveness team - who oversees the IT CareerLab - will offer a new event series called “Coffee & Careers” that will focus on the IT community’s career development programs. Join them on October 9 while enjoying some light refreshments and snacks.

What is “Coffee & Careers?”

Each “Coffee & Careers” event will focus on a single IT CareerLab development program including the IT Experiential Development Program (IT EDP), IT Mentoring, ITLP and STLP, and IDEAL IT. These events aim to:

  • Raise awareness around each of the IT Community career development programs and highlight current opportunities within the programs
  • Facilitate networking and knowledge sharing between past program participants and potential future participants
  • Encourage participants to skill-build, grow their career, and explore all that the IT community has to offer
  • Clarify who can participate and how the program fits into your current workloads
  • Answer any lingering questions, so that you feel confident in choosing your next career development adventure

By attending, you’ll gain a better understanding of these programs, assess whether they are right for you, and learn how to get involved.

The first event in the series will explore the IT EDP on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. in Cardinal Hall Room C144 at Stanford Redwood City. RSVP to secure your spot and see if the IT EDP is the right fit for you!
