Effective Sept. 1, 2025, University IT’s (UIT) Room Support service will transition from the Computer Resource Consulting (CRC) team to the Audio Video Technologies (AVT) team. This change will enable UIT to offer end-to-end support for conference room technology, providing a unified and streamlined experience for users.
Why this change?
Room Support was developed within CRC to leverage their expertise in user experience-focused field IT support, providing onsite room sweeps, technical assistance, and in-room documentation. Currently, AVT provides Hardware and Software A/V Support, preventing and resolving issues with conference room audiovisual equipment. As the service matured, aligning it with Audio Video Technologies (AVT) became the clear next step. By merging these services under AVT, UIT will offer a unified, one-stop solution for all conference room needs, enhancing the user experience and support efficiency.
What is changing?
The Room Support service will now be under AVT’s care, with the same commitment to expertise, reliability, and smooth support.
The process for requesting room support will remain unchanged until further notice, allowing you to continue using familiar communication channels (hotline, ServiceNow forms, Slack channel, etc.).
What to expect
The CRC and AVT teams are committed to a smooth, seamless transition; service will not be interrupted. After the transition, the AVT team will schedule introduction meetings with clients to get better acquainted and discuss next steps.
