ServiceNow Upgrade to Zurich Launching Soon

On Feb. 26, 2026, ServiceNow will upgrade to the latest version, Zurich, to optimize technical functionality and meet compliance standards. Running the latest version ensures that University IT (UIT) continues to provide the Stanford community with the best support possible.

As this is a technical upgrade, it should not impact the look or feel of the platform. However, if you experience any issues after the upgrade, we are here to support you.

Why we’re upgrading

Stanford operates on the Xanadu release, lagging behind Zurich by two versions; ServiceNow will no longer support Xanadu by mid-2026. As with other upgrades, Zurich will provide security enhancements and improved functionality.

What to expect

For those looking to experience the upgrade firsthand, the testing environment is currently available through Feb. 13, 2026. To learn more, visit UAT Testing on the Zurich upgrade page.

  • During the testing phase, the ServiceNow upgrade team is hosting open office hours on Tuesdays and Fridays to answer questions and provide support.
  • If you encounter any bugs or defects while testing, please use the report a defect form to submit your findings.
