Stanford People of Color in Technology + Allies (POC-IT+) is a university-wide affinity group that advances representation, engagement, and support of people of any color in technology roles at Stanford.
While primarily aimed at university, SLAC, and Stanford Medicine staff who work or have an interest in technology roles, POC-IT+ also welcomes faculty and students, allies, and those in non-technology roles who are interested in participating.

The fifth Explore Careers in Technology Event (ExCITE), sponsored by the CIO Council and People of Color in Technology (POC-IT) affinity group, was held on March 30. The theme of this ExCITE was “Leading From Where You Are.”
Stanford’s People of Color in Technology (POC-IT) hosted a speaker series event in December with former Stanford employee and current vice president and chief information security officer (CISO) at Versant Health, Auston Davis.
The fourth Explore Careers in Technology Event (ExCITE) was held on Nov. 16. The theme of this ExCITE was “the self” including self-empowerment, self-improvement, self-advocacy, and self-compassion.

POC-IT+ uses DONUT, an app that randomly pairs individuals together on Slack to help facilitate networking among community members. New pairings happen monthly.
