Go, See, and Do: Expand Your Professional Development With the Next Phase of IT EDP

Beginning in August, the IT Experiential Development Program (IT EDP) will expand to include temporary development assignments.

The CIO Council-sponsored program launched five months ago with opportunities to job-shadow and/or observe a team, unit, or project meetings (go-and-see). Building on the first phase, this next phase will offer participants more hands-on experiences in the form of short-term development assignments, in addition to the opportunities to observe.

Hosts wanted! Submit opportunities now through Aug. 1

The IT EDP project coordination team is currently seeking hosts for all three types of opportunities, especially short-term development assignments. If you’re a team lead or manager, this is a great way to leverage the skills and expertise of other members of the IT Community to meet your team’s objectives, while simultaneously creating a valuable learning opportunity for someone. It’s a win-win.

  • Interested in hosting an opportunity? Complete this IT EDP Opportunity form by Aug. 1.
  • If you need help creating an opportunity or have questions, reach out to the IT EDP Project Coordination team at it-edp-program@lists.stanford.edu for assistance.

Explore the opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities available today and even more coming! More information and updates about the expanded development opportunities in IT EDP will be available mid-August.

  • If you see any go-and-see or job-shadow opportunities in the Opportunity Directory that interest you today, we encourage you to complete an interest form ASAP. (And remember to check back next month for the new short-term development assignments!)
  • Please submit questions through the IT EDP webpage or email the IT EDP coordinators at it-edp-program@lists.stanford.edu.

About the program

IT EDP supports individual learning, growth, and development while also encouraging collaboration across schools, departments, groups, and units. Whether you're a host or a participant, engaging in the program can broaden your skills, expertise, and connections within and across Stanford IT.
