How to reach students is important since almost all have a mobile device of some sort. Meal plans would be a good fit.
The use of location services to provide students with menus and specials he/she would be interested in

How to build apps
Folks looking at mobile aware web site vs creating an app work. Both have their pros and cons.
On campus iPhone accounts for 92%, but that can change
Amazon replaced their app with web page to get around problems distributing apps through Apple's store.
Geolocation is important and can be found by both app and web page
Lots of talk about how phones are tracked and how the location is reported
Use camera for app which can be really handy
Also dead spots in the munger areas for the wireless... lots of concrete and steel blocking signals
Wireless upgrade project to go to N speed and should be here soon
What's better cell or wireless coverage
Symbol devices in use and were upgraded should work with N
Most common apps being used iStanford, yelp and Roambi for business data reporting
Tim Flood Stanford mobile committing; there is a need for this
Front end to remedy for iPhone would be nice; hard to do with small screen
Zen desk on the mobile devices is already done
There are discovery problems in letting people know about the app
Just go through iStanford to get to each needed part or service
It's interface works pretty well and one can set priority
