Jamf has become a compliance requirement for Stanford macOS devices. If you haven’t heard why Stanford selected Jamf, check out the University IT (UIT) news article: Summer To-Do: Enroll Mac in New Management System.
It’s time to enroll
All faculty and staff members who use a Stanford-affiliated Mac not yet enrolled in Jamf will receive an email from UIT with instructions on how to use the Jamf Enrollment application, which automates the enrollment process.
These emails will:
- let recipients know that BigFix will soon push a message to their Mac with prompts to use the Jamf Enrollment application to enroll their device
- provide instructions for downloading the enrollment application using a web browser so recipients may opt to enroll at their convenience — without having to wait for the push
The deployment timeline
As shown in the table below, deployments will be scheduled in stages by OS version, starting with macOS Monterey, followed by macOS Big Sur, and ending with macOS Catalina.
Individuals will receive:
- an email notification at the start of the month of their deployment
- a reminder email at the start of the week of their deployment
