Those who use shared workstations can now enjoy the added security of Cardinal Key.

Cardinal Key can be quickly and easily set up on shared macOS and Windows devices if:

  • Each user has their own local account.
  • The shared device is running BigFix and compliant.
  • There is a primary user for the device.

Please refer to this Cardinal Key resource to view the set-up steps and other information for shared workstations.

The best way to set up Cardinal Key on shared devices is to use the Cardinal Key installer.

What is Cardinal Key?

Cardinal Key is a digital certificate that is installed on a device and provides a user’s identity to a remote server in place of a SUNet ID and password. Cardinal Keys are installed on a per-device basis, and the same Cardinal Key provides authentication to VPN and web single sign-on.
