Issue:

Creating web sites with different content per event accumulates easily.  Is there a way to archive such content to be shared with various sections of the Stanford community?  It would be great to share content rather than invent the wheel every time a new event is created.

Solutions Discussed:

Internal archive solutions that are being used for

Design tokens-tool within drupal that will assist in transferring content/design from a site to another.

   Use Stanford Event Calendar,

Audience Input:

Would like to learn more about live streaming or podcast

There is a Stanford Web Services Committee - may be an opportunity to collaborate and see what else is the community using

At the business school people like podcasts better than live streaming because it is accessible at ANY time.  Podcast use is growing perhaps because people can access it from anywhere and listen to it at a convenient time.

In the School of Education, we have 84 episodes, created twice a month and then the links are embedded in the news update and it is in Sirius XM. It is very easy to publish to iTunes, Spotify, etc.  They have research news (faculty), Students, media mentions and___ those are the bucket on the website we include news articles and then it has the podcast audio at the bottom.  We tag faculty and have profile pictures.

What are the Projects for next year

Feb 2020 first release of Stanford sites.  Each month functionality will be released in an agile process.  If your site is in AFS and using Drupal 6 then such sites will be upgraded. As AFS goes away, options should be presented.

Other to-do items shared-

During the summer created a survey to determine what challenges are ahead for the Cayman Institute.  We found that people have a difficult time analyzing data.  Are they looking at the right metrics?  What exactly am I measuring? Addressing these concerns is the challenge to face in the near future.
