Unified Endpoint Roadmap Notes

Nick is being held hostage on CalTrain

Focus is Mac early on.

Licensing/cost is still an issue.

Would both MDMs be on a Mac? No, can only have one, we would just have JAMF.

Is JAMF ability to report to airwatch an engineering or marketing feature? Joshua: VMWare promising to improve functionality. Workspace isn’t in immediate beginning, would migrate in over time.

What is ballpark price per month/device? Under 10,000, $1.50. Over 10,000, $1.00. Working on our quantity of 45,000.

What is the windows to OSX ration? 45000 Macs, 28000 Windows

Transition program. Maintain distributed administration. Working initially on opt-in. Use DING for now, then on new machines, then migrate previous systems. Or major migration yourself.

SHC? Apple – Airwatch and JAMF – moving to JAMF, decommission Airwatch. Windows – Azure integrated SCCM, moving to Intune and Azure. Android – Airwatch, migrating to Intune. Won’t have a single pane of glass, striving toward. Compliance management from Intune?

Will this include SoM? Mostly SHC. Faculty who travel between various compliance systems?

What drove moving away from Airwatch? JAMF has everyone Airwatch does and more. Funds consolidation. Android 10% of Airwatch users. SHC: Apple goes to JAMF, Android goes to Intune.

Potential for long term 2 systems, never a single pane of glass? You never know… Hopefully innovative API brings the single pane.

Would MyDevices by single pane if everything goes there? Work in progress – not there.

Desktop Advisory on hiatus. Create Desktop Leadership group for direction and Desktop Support group, education and sharing.
