Having fun virtually

Proposed By

Summary
Discuss virtual teambuilding activities - has anyone done anything fun? What works? What doesn't?
Notes

Mike from CTL - We have a social every other Thursday - Pictionary, Trivia (randomly paired with another employee, learn something new, then send those answers into a facilitator to combine for Trivia - it was a BLAST (a scream!).

A couple of rising seniors Daniel Lee  and ? wrote a 'game' called Nooks - one can travel room to room and play different games!

************************

Cheryl from Teaching and Learning in GSB - played Bingo as a way to learn about each other

Have a Slack channel called "game on". Have a "Game Monk" app and one can call out a need to play a game on the fly as a quick way to get a break during the day!

************************

Lisa - We used PollEverywhere as a trivia type game. Made scoring, etc. easier

************************

John - GSE - Jackbox games. Can have up to a 100 players (on-screen # limited) that can contribute

Another game we adopted from codenames is "codewords"

Spyfall.f/

************************

Kat - virtual dice games

Tablletopia - $29/person gives you access to 1500 board games!

************************

Jon - EE SoE - Friday Happy Hour for staff. Have tried a lot of what is in the list (see below). Trivia, Pictionary (really a version based on the 1970's show Win Lose or Draw). A game based on Match Game (we some 70's TV afficionados..). Beat Shazam (name that tune)

************************

Brenda - It' s not a game, but the Law Library provided a virtual tour of Sweet Farm - the animals, the story behind the rescues, etc.

************************

Alex - We do "human check-ins". Super random "what's your favorite haloween candy?". Generates some interesting conversations.

************************

Meeting management - need to assign a facilitator to explain the game/activity, keep things moving, answer questions; can use breakout rooms to facilitate different teams
